Welcome to the Energy Efficiency Center
Our mission is to acceleratedevelopment and commercialization ofenergy-efficient technologiesTogether with our network of technology, university and strategic partners, the Energy Efficiency Center at the University of California, Davis (EEC) identifies promising energy-efficient technologies, develops viable business ventures around those technologies, and connects those ventures to the financial, physical, intellectual and social capital that will be critical to their success. |
About UsThe EEC was established in 2006 with a challenge grant from the California Clean Energy Fund as the first university-based energy efficiency center in the United States to focus on the transfer of technology into the marketplace. The EEC relies upon a strong public-private partnership and collaboration with industry, government, and our university partners to meet the demands for innovation in energy efficiency, business development and the growing need for a trained labor force. We have strong ties with all of the primary utility companies, the private sector and public agencies in California. EEC Leadership Sponsors serve as members of the Board of Advisors, which is composed of leaders from the California Clean Energy Fund (CalCEF), California’s major utilities, venture capitalists and businesses. For more detailed information about the Center, see the Executive Summary. For directions to the Center or to contact EEC staff, see Contact Us. |

The EEC organizes its research efforts along three technology tracks: The EEC also works to analyze and propose policy options that will encourage a more energy-efficient future. In addition, the EEC works internationally to bring energy-efficient technologies to developing countries. Conferences, workshops and a speaker series are held annually. We work to build strong ties with existing UC Davis centers and departments campus-wide, linking them with our network of public and private partners. |
