ECOS Donated Power Meters are Put to Good Use - March, 2008

EVAs, Tai Stillwater and Siva Gunda, work with energy meters

With a generous donation from ECOS, UC Davis students studying energy efficiency are completing energy audits for campus buildings as well as assessing residential consumption and stand-by power as part of two different courses taught this spring, one entitled, Energy Efficiency: The Other Side of the Meter, by Dr. Alan Meier and the other by Dr. Joan Ogden entitled, Energy Policy. DHS student, Nicky Bunn, and Da Vinci HS student, Max Michaelson, measure energy consumption

The donated power meters are also being used by Sherri Sandberg’s science class at Davis High School to help students assess their carbon footprint and determine energy consumption in their homes. Fifty meters were donated by Ecos (www.ecosconsulting.com), a professional services organization committed to improving the environment by providing solutions to their clients that will reduce energy use and carbon emissions.
